The Reaxys PhD Prize returns in 2019
We’re delighted to announce that the Reaxys PhD Prize is back! The world’s most prestigious award for PhD students in the chemical sciences will open for submissions in January 2019. Anyone who is currently doing a PhD in chemistry or who completed their PhD after January 1, 2018, is eligible to enter, and if past editions of the competition are anything to go by, we can expect hundreds of submissions from all over the world.
As always, 45 finalists will be chosen and invited to the Reaxys PhD Prize Symposium to present their research. All the finalists of previous editions have been creative thinkers, engaged in innovative, ambitious and rigorous research that pushed the boundaries of chemistry, defining the field.
The Symposium is a celebratory gathering but also a great opportunity for the finalists to meet each other as well as the eminent scientists of the Reaxys Advisory Board and some of the chemists previously recognized with the award. A shortlisted group of finalists will give talks at the event and then the 3 winners will be selected and announced.
The Reaxys PhD Prize is more than a competition to celebrate outstanding young chemists. It’s also an opportunity to become part of the Reaxys Prize Club — an exclusive international network of chemists from all research areas and career paths. All finalists receive lifelong membership, so the club currently has over 350 members. Former finalists and winners have talked about the impact of the prize on their careers both in terms of the prestige and the connections they’ve forged through the Prize Club. Members also get lifelong access to Reaxys and Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry to support their future research.
First launched in 2010, the Reaxys PhD Prize has become an internationally recognized award for high-quality research. The Reaxys Advisory Board oversees the competition, ensuring that it stays relevant to the chemical sciences. Its members are internationally recognized leaders in chemistry who have made a commitment to supporting the creativity and perspectives of the next generation of visionary scientists.
Join us, the members of the Reaxys Advisory Board and the members of the Reaxys Prize Club in celebrating the return of the Reaxys PhD Prize in 2019! And if you know a PhD student in chemistry who would be a good candidate, make sure they visit the homepage to get all the details on how to enter.
