Reference Modules: Trustworthy

In order to ensure the content in Reference Modules is trustworthy, Elsevier recruited editorial boards – teams of accomplished subject-matter experts – to select, organize and the review the content in each of the modules. The editorial board that looks after the Reference Module in Chemistry, Molecular Sciences and Chemical Engineering is led by Editor-in-Chief Jan Reedijk of Leiden University in the Netherlands. The editorial board that looks after the Reference Module in Earth Systems and Environmental Sciences is led by Editor-in-Chief Scott Elias of Royal Holloway, University of London, UK. The new Reference Module in Biomedical Sciences is led by Editor-in-Chief Michael Caplan of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

The editorial boards organize content from Elsevier Reference Works into intuitive, interdisciplinary subject hierarchies. Once the content is sorted into the hierarchies, the editorial boards lead the review of all the content, removing out-of-date articles, updating articles, and commissioning new articles where content is needed.
