Researcher Academy Webinar: How to manage and publish your research data

By My Pham

The age of research data being buried in a notebook or computer file has long gone. Today, it is vital to publicly share research data if you want to make your scientific findings transparent and enable others to create new science based on existing results. But the need for data publication does not only stop at promoting transparency and reproducibility.

Sharing data is now a part of a bigger movement where scientists are expected to publish their data along with their research works to build trust and contribute to a better future of science.

Yet, the questions around how, why, what if, and when hinder scientists from making their data public or publishing it. To help researchers unlock this puzzle, Dr. Larisa Yarovaya, Programme Director of BSc Finance at the University of Southampton, and David Parsons, Senior Customer Marketing Manager at Elsevier, discussed the most pressing issues faced by researchers when it comes to sharing their data in Researcher Academy’s webinar on April 23rd. They shared the benefits of publishing research data, best practices in seeking appropriate repositories and ensuring data privacy.
