Professor Mohammad Obaidat Wins Lifetime Achievement SCS Hall of Fame Award
Prof. Mohammad S. Obaidat, editor of Elsevier’s Handbook of Green Information and Communication Systems, the soon to be published Modeling and Simulation of Computer Networks and Systems: Methodologies and Applications and EiC of serval International Journals and has been awarded the Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS) Lifetime Achievement Award-The SCS Hall of Fame Award.
The Board of Directors of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS) has approved this award in its recent meeting.
The Chair of the SCS Awards and Recognition Committee stated in his letter to Prof. Obaidat that:
“Your many outstanding, exceptional and lasting technical contributions recognized by worldwide experts have significantly impacted the use of modeling and simulation in predicting the performance of systems, especially computer, telecommunication and network systems.
Your worldwide remarkable and long-lasting technical contributions and leadership services have influenced the future of Modeling and Simulation discipline, profession and SCS.
My heartfelt congratulations to you on this outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award, and admirable honor and accomplishment!”
Prof. Obaidat commented on the announcement of the award saying:
“I am very pleased and honored to be one of nine worldwide scientists who won this award since the inception of the Society of Modeling and Simulation International, SCS, in 1952. This award is not only for me, it is to my students, fellow researchers, colleagues, my family, and the institutions that I went to and the ones that I worked for, and the publishers that published books for me.”
About the Author
Professor Obaidat is an internationally known academic, researcher, and scientist. He received his PhD and MS degrees in computer engineering with a minor in computer science from The Ohio State University. An accomplished author and writer, he has been an editor for numerous scientific journals including being the editor in chief of three scholarly international journals: the International Journal of Communication Systems, Journal of Convergence, and Journal of Information Processing.
He also served as an editor of IEEE Wireless Communications and is currently serving as editor or advisory editor for many other journals including IEEE journals. He is a professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Monmouth University, NJ, USA.
