His aim is to encourage conversations among people with diverse skills and perspectives about presenting data in ways that are more widely accessible and engaging.

What’s Trending in Design
Through both user experience design and writing, Hunter Whitney examines how design can help people make new discoveries in data and put that knowledge to use. He explores how building blocks such as multi-modal interfaces, data mining, and 2D and 3D visualizations can be put together in new “architectures of discovery.” One area of particular interest is visualizing the brain, which demands just such a multifaceted approach. His most recent article, Exploring the Brain Through Experience Design, published in UX Magazine offers some perspectives on this issue.
Hunter believes with more general awareness of the issues, the field can “truly enable meaningful collaborations among people with different expertise and skill sets.” “I want to engage people, to get them to look, think, and even play with the information they encounter every day.
